Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back!
After the Escape Pod of the Episode IV, I'm now busy with the Snow Speeder.
The kit is very nice. Numerous little parts, but no problem to build the vessel. Work is just started...

Thank you! I have made some researches on the net to find good images of the cockpit interior ;)

:-clap :-ok

Little progress today: instrument panels in black; screens in transparent orange; pilots received a more darker wash; seatd are painted in Vallejo Basalt Grey and some lights in the cockpit in red and yellow.
Next phase: to continue the work on the instrument panels...

Even in this stage cockpit look good :-ok

Thank you my friend! :)

Even in this stage cockpit look good :-ok
I agree! :-clap
-
This evening I have worked on that cockpit:
First, lines are highligted with aequous pencil Caran d'Ache "Chestnut".
Then, drybrush with white on the control panels. Terrific result!
Then, panels are glued first and finally the crew...

Beauty!! :-clap :-clap

Thank you Sall! ;)

OK, special work today: the glasses of the cockpit!
First, after having measured the glasses needed I drawed them on a sheet of paper, as a template; tried the fitting; made some corrections then placed a thin clear plastic sheet on top of the template and with a cutter, I made the glasses.
There were glued with cyano into the cockpit. Then, I placed maskol on the outside and with a paintbrush, covered the parts that have no need to remain transparent with Vallejo Basalt Grey.
Then, the cockpit was glued with cyano...
-
Please accept my best regards for this excellent work :-ok :-clap
-
Yes, this is great! Individual segments of glass make for tedious but beautiful results.
-
Thank you friends!

As I will not use the decals for the red bands, I have masked the Snow Speeder before to airbrush...
-
That's a spirit :)
-
:-clap :-ok
-
Thank you!
I was zen during that phase, listening some good music (Evanescence, Turisas, Rhapsody, Rammstein, Katie Melua)
-
First I put some micro drops of Maskol on the locations to be painted in red (to simulate later the bad state of red color). Then I sprayed Gunze H13 Red and Tamiya XF-53 Neutral Grey.
-
Old good method :))
-
Making this look battle-worn is fascinating!!!
-
;)
-
Nice! :-clap

Thank you!

Tamiya masking tape and Maskol are removed...
I'm very happy with the result I've obtained! :)

No problem at all. Even better I think: will be easier to remove maskol from the glasses...

Masking of the cockpit interior

Well, I don't know but hope so... HAve finlly found a nice base in my stock; but will have to repaint it in white...

:-red :-red :-red I have forgotten the photos... :-red :-red :-red
-
This is close to finish line and is very good!! :-clap
-
Great :-ok
-
Thank you! ;)
-
Some good progress today:
First, painting of the rear gun. Base is acrylic silver (I opted for Citadel Colors "Mitrhil Silver"); then you apply oil paint "black smoke" and let as is during 15 minutes. After that, with a Q-tip you remove the oil paint. Final result is realistic!!!
Then, oil wash...
Last photo shows you how the Speeder will be persented.
-
:-ok :-clap
Now we wait photos of finished kit!! :-tri :-clap
-
Great work, friend!
-
Still not completed but look fantastic :-clap What is Q-tip?
-
Cotton on plastic (or wood) used for the ears...
-
Aha :) I use it widely but did not know this name, thank you ;)
-
Nice evening... ;)
I have first airbrushed Pébéo matt varnish. Then I removed the maskol from the glasses of the canopy; glued the little elements to the Speeder; weathered it with Tamiya pastel "Snoot" and fixed the Speeder to the base where I have also glued the logo of the film...
IT'S FINISHED!!! :)) :-evil :-evil :-evil
It was a real pleasure to build that splendid little jewel; and I'm proud of the result :-love :-love :-love
