And here is coming the fabulous Belgian Tank Killer...
During my military duty in the Belgian army (loooong time ago) when serving on CVRT, I had the opportunity to see some JPK's during maneuvers and gun fire sessions. It was for me the beautifulest AFVof the time.
The Belgian JPK 90 is different from the German KaJaPa: when Belgium bought that tank, Germany had begun the production of the Marder. So, Belgian JPK', were based on the Marder low part of the chassis...
Well, to be honnest I cannot comment the qualities of the Retrotracks kit... Just because I have participated to the creation of the master... I can just say: " let see and make your own opinion..."
Building will begin tomorrow. ;)

Great!! If I can remember good, you start topic with master construction in 2011?

You're right my friend... ;)

This is great, to see your master turned into a kit, then built by the man who created it!

I must say it's a big emotion...

Resin carrots were removed. That took many time, because there are many very tiny parts. But other than that, no particular problem. I broke only one part, and not when removing carrots but once in place whan I manipulated the JPK... Replacement made with Evergreen.
Miliput was needed for the mantle of the gun: I removed too much stuff...
Building asked for some times, but the instruction sheet is clear enough and very helpful.
OK, my JPK is now reading for painting!

Very good detailed for that scale!!!

Thank you!
Yes, details are great. In fact, the most difficult stage is behind now: it was to remove the tiny parts from the resin carrots without breaking them...

Primer airbrushed
-
So good!!!
-
;)
-
Back to business :-green
Gunze H52 airbrushed. The artificial light gives a paint more brown than actual, that is more green...
-
Nice anyway ;)
-
Yes, really. Better photos as soon as possible...
-
Painting of details (lights, episocpes, etc) and beginning of the apinting of the left track
-
For me this is more relaxing part of modeling ;)
-
Sure!
...But perheaps the more time consuming also ;)
-
Today, a little bit of weathering...
-
Look great, I like details on tracks ;)
-
Thank you! ;)
-
A "handful of detail"! :-ok
-
Thank you Scott!
Work those two last days consisted to set de decals in place.
The kit box contains no decals; those ones come from a DACO decals sheet for Belgian AFV's. All the numbers were individually placed... :-wall :-wall :-wall :-tri

It is almost completed now :-ok Strange, why not decals in kit?

It is almost completed now :-ok Strange, why not decals in kit?
Different reasons: to lower the cost of the kit and permit an honnest sale price; the existence of DACO sheet that is absolutely complete and gives the possibility to represent absolutely all the Belgin AFV's; and the future release of a decal sheet but cannot speak more about actually... ;)

Pébéo gloss varnis applied, then oil wash...
-
First I've airbrushed matt varnish from Pébéo; then with Tamiya Gloss varnish I have corrected the lights and episcopes...
-
...And then my favourite stage: PASTELS! :-green
I've used Tamiya Green and Snooze pastels.
I enclose also a photo of the material needed to realise the decor...
-
Results is outstanding mate :-clap
-
Thank you!
-
Use of Mig pigments to give some "dusty" effect: the JPK90 is finished!!!
Now, I'm working on the base...
-
Great!!!
-
Thank you my friend! ;)
-
This is really a stunning machine! Congratulations on this, your own "modeling offspring" if you will!
-
Thank you Scott! ;)
Well, it's finished now...
First, airbrush of dark green on the tree; then painting of the plant; drybrush of the ground with different brown and green paints; grass is placed and finally the JPK...
I'm really happy. It's my first participation to the creation of a master of a tank and it's a very sane one. To build the kit was a double pleasure: nice to build the kit; and nice to build MY kit...
Last photo was taken with the flash to show the dust and dry mud on the wheels and tracks.

Wonderful mate :-ok

Thank you mate! ;)
