JPK 90 (RetrokiT 1/72)
« on: March 22, 2014, 07:07:17 PM »
And here is coming the fabulous Belgian Tank Killer...

During my military duty in the Belgian army (loooong time ago) when serving on CVRT, I had the opportunity to see some JPK's during maneuvers and gun fire sessions. It was for me the beautifulest AFVof the time.

The Belgian JPK 90 is different from the German KaJaPa: when Belgium bought that tank, Germany had begun the production of the Marder. So, Belgian JPK', were based on the Marder low part of the chassis...

Well, to be honnest I cannot comment the qualities of the Retrotracks kit... Just because I have participated to the creation of the master... I can just say: " let see and make your own opinion..."

Building will begin tomorrow. ;)

This is great, to see your master turned into a kit, then built by the man who created it!

Resin carrots were removed. That took many time, because there are many very tiny parts. But other than that, no particular problem. I broke only one part, and not when removing carrots but once in place whan I manipulated the JPK... Replacement made with Evergreen.

Miliput was needed for the mantle of the gun: I removed too much stuff...

Building asked for some times, but the instruction sheet is clear enough and very helpful.

OK, my JPK is now reading for painting!

Thank you!

Yes, details are great. In fact, the most difficult stage is behind now: it was to remove the tiny parts from the resin carrots without breaking them...

Back to business  :-green

Gunze H52 airbrushed. The artificial light gives a paint more brown than actual, that is more green...
