Panzer IV ausf.G (Dragon 1/72)
« on: December 31, 2011, 01:33:01 PM »
Well, time to start a new topic in the "Ground Forces" section of th eforum; this time it's really a ground force  :))

This PZ iv is a G model of early production. The Dragon kit is very fine. Dragon reduced his 1/35 scale kit to 1/72 scale with some new technique (as they say). The result is a stunning kit with lot of little, tiny parts - at 1/72 scale that's nice but cn be annoying because hard to manipulate...

The building of the kit was made some times ago...

Some problems to remove the tiny parts from the sprue and to place them on the kit; but finally all was OK.
The antenna seemed to be too thick to me, so I've replaced with steel wire.
Only a major probelm: the tracks. On one side all ws OK, but on the other side there was a little space... I've recuperated a part of track from my spare box and placed them where needed...

...And today (airbrush day... ;) ) I've painted the sand yellow color (Gunze H403) - I will represent a PZ IV used in Greece...

Not for the PZ IV I'm afraid, the Hors-série about the Panzers is already out of production...
But this build is essentially an out-of-the box one... ;)

Yes, but on the other hand that is a good indication for the excellent quality of the serie :)

Nice looking kit, I have a couple of Dragons newer 72nd scale armor kits, and they are very nice!
