Title: Yakovlev Yak-3 in Aviation mus. Belgrade
Post by: Letipapa on February 26, 2008, 11:22:41 PM
Dear friends, first a little explanation due the fact that I post some special details of this airplane, immediately on the opening of theme. Reason for such a sudden details attack is that our mate @samuraj77 asked me specially to photo them. He is working on one model of this aircraft (not in this color scheme, not YU Air Force, as much as I know), and needs just to confirm something about some details. So, the whole aircraft is coming soon, and now first the details of fuel indicator that is placed on the wings.
This is the best I got(first 3 photo's is the left wing, the rest is right wing) :-wave

Hey, guys: psst!. I allways cross forbidden line so I come close, of course it is because there is no many visitors, its empty, and guards are relaxed. :)(normally if they see me I can explain, they will understand). But also I used zoom, this time I could rest camera on the balcony handrest (is it wright word ?) so the photo's are sharp enaph.
OK, next is again a spinner (from bellow), and then the radiator (samuraj77 wondered if colour is same inside -it is, and I forgot to photo inside from a small distance, so this is a blowup of another shot).Next are smaller parts of wheels covers, and wheels legs (this are lightend in photoshop for better detail of mechanism itself, and are details of larger photos)

As nothing special could be seen, I lightened when I photographed again, and nothing reveals but some hidden spider web. Yak-3 needs little cleaning. :)
Now I go to sleep (I'm going to dream this machine for sure), but there is lot more  -tommarrow:-wave

Well, this aircraft (as all other Yu aircraft from this period) seems to have same grey blue colour above and same very light blue green (almost turqoise) variant under (I really do not know exact names of this colours :-red). Same is on Me Bf109G-2, and also on Sturmovik, Hawker, Ikarus, Texan,... that I could photo soon.( :))) In fact it's not some special camo but it is like it is.
I'm happy if these photo's will be of some help.
Very good idea. :-ok :-wave

I almost forgot, here is few last shots, and you can see that sunlight is changeing the color on photo, so You mast take informations of colour on some photo's with care. There is no change of color it is different light on airplane (shadoww and sun -because of this glass wall construction in museum). Look how wing looks brown on phot.5. In fact the colour is grey blue like on phot.6. Sun is colouring it more yellow. Caution!
 :-salut :-wave

These Jaks as far as I know came in VVS colors Amt-11/Amt-12 on upper surfaces and Amt-7 on lower, maybe they are overpainted before displaying in museum  :-think
It is strange that having in mind all more interesting cammo of FNRJ and SFRJ planes they decided to put in museum the simplest one's...
