Proper USAF "Blue Canoe" paint scheme on it - it once flew in this scheme in the USAF.

We had a straight-tail U-3 at the VFM museum when I was still involved there. This later model is better looking in USAF scheme!

Hello mate,

Thanks for these pictures.

I also knew this plane as "Cessna L-27B Administrator". If I remember well it became U-3B in 1962.

'U' stood for 'Utility'. U-2 must have received this type designation just to hide its real purpose as a spying plane!
