Today Ellen and I were "reunited" with one of our warbird projects from the past, the Fortress known as Texas Raiders. We did some sheetmetal work on the old girl in 2008 when it was under long term restoration and repairs. This was the first time we've seen the airplane in one piece since then, and the first time we've seen it fly since the late 1980s.

Beautiful bird, did you get aboard for flight?

No, we just stopped and visited with one of the pilots and a couple of the ground crew for a little while and then crawled aboard to see how our handiwork was holding up.

It's a bit of trivia, but this B-17 was the first one to actually be considered as a "warbird" when the CAF purchased it. It also performed a flyover at the retirement ceremony of General Curtis LeMay.
