Indonesia expects in August to receive from Russia the first Su-35 fighter
Indonesia expects to purchase 11 Su-35s in the framework of the forthcoming contract with Russia, the first deliveries are expected in August this year, the Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Vahid Supadiyadi told Interfax on Wednesday.
"We expect that in August we will already receive at least one aircraft, since at this time we celebrate Independence Day," V.Supridiadi said. The ambassador noted that the forthcoming contract implies delivery of 11 aircraft.
At the Federal Service for Arms Trade of Russia, Interfax was told that they did not comment on the progress of the Su-35 negotiations. According to some reports, from Wednesday in Jakarta details of the contract are discussed by the Russian delegation.
The Chief of Staff of the Air Force of Indonesia, Yuu Sutisna, expressed the hope that the contract for the supply of 11 Su-35 fighters from Russia will be signed during January, Indonesian media reported on January 18.
