Liquid resin infusion (LRI) for large-scale aerospace structures is something of an art form. The process involves materials fabric modeling, draping, assembly, and infusion. To introduce more performance predictability into LRI composite manufacturing, the European Research Consortium is developing CAE-based simulation tools meant to eliminate expensive and time-consuming prototype testing.
