Four people were killed when a Mi-8 helicopter landed hard at the Coal Mines airport in Chukotka, the district government told TASS.

"Four people were killed. Previously, the cause of the helicopter crash was technical problems," the source said.

According to the head of the Anadyrsky district of Chukotka, Sergey Savchenko, the emergency occurred "during tests after repairs". After landing, the helicopter caught fire, he said TASS.He added that " four of the dead were soldiers."

Some info state that few ex Russian Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters (Ми-8МТВ-1) were handed to Syria. Photo here is dated on February this year.
