North American Fury
« on: February 13, 2014, 08:44:17 PM »
One of the almost forgotten naval US fighters. Interesting to note that first model does not have much relations with later sub version which was naval version of the Sabre.

Here you are first set of the FJ-1 Fury images.

Excellent subject matter, No.1! I love to read these manuals, and it is of interest that there is much instruction on how to fly the traffic pattern in these early jets.

I once met a gentleman who worked on the production line of the FJ-1 and he told me that there was a great similarity between the FJ-1 and late P-51s as regards the structure of the airplane. He told me that some of his fellow employees dubbed it the "jet Mustang". As you look at the wing there is a strong resemblance to a P-51H wing.
