In the early 1950s, Stampe-Vertongen SV biplanes were used to train French Army pilots.4, developed in the 1930s. To replace them with more modern monoplanes, the army published requirements for a new two-seat aircraft for primary training. Based on these specifications, Nord Aviation developed the Nord 3202.

It was a two-seat low-wing plane with a non-retractable landing gear. Production aircraft were equipped with the Potez 4D-32 (240 hp) or Potez 4D-34 (260 hp) engine, cruising speed-195 km / h, flight range-1000 km. No weapons were installed.

In 1959, after all the tests, the Nord 3202 became the main training aircraft for the training of pilots of the Army light aviation. It was also used in aerobatic competitions. 101 aircraft were produced. The last Nord 3202 was decommissioned in 1978. Several aircraft have survived in flying condition to this day.
