NASA Developing Drone Traffic Control

NASA Ames Research Center is developing an air traffic control system for UAVs that will govern airspace from the ground to 500 ft, above which current regulations take place. One component would define restricted zones (airports, tall buildings), another, perhaps, proscribed landing areas for dedicated deliveries. Fly zones could include agricultural-land/crop surveying and utility-line monitoring.
