Engineers of the MiG Corporation have received a patent for a non-linear correction device for automatic aircraft control systems. Russian specialists managed to solve the problem of vibrations caused by the pilot during "manual" control of the aircraft in the modes of energetic maneuvering (the so-called PIO-vibrations). They lead to instability in the aircraft control systems and provoke emergency situations. The invention has already been tested and installed on the MiG-29M/M2 and MiG-35 fighters.
"The patented device will improve flight safety and reduce the pilot's workload in the cockpit, "said Andrey Gerasimchuk, Managing Director of the MiG Corporation.
A non-linear correction device is installed in front of the steering drive. It helps the combat vehicle not to go to the maximum permissible speed mode. In addition, the nonlinear correction device eliminates the time delay of the signal entering the steering drive.
"PIO oscillations occur when a pilot is unable to adjust to a sudden change in vehicle dynamics while performing a complex task. Our invention allows us to make the flight safer, " said Yuri Obolensky, Deputy Chief Designer for Control Systems of the MiG Corporation.
