« on: June 04, 2020, 01:44:33 PM »
The United aircraft Corporation (Объединенная авиастроительная корпорация) is completing the modernization of the Czech-made L-39 training aircraft.

"At the Experimental machine-building plant (EMZ) Myasishchev (part of the UAC as part of Rostec) is completing work on the modernization of the main training aircraft L-39, which is in service with the VKS of the Russian Federation, " the Corporation said.

They noted that as part of the work to replace outdated and unrepaired components, the aircraft received a new avionics completely Russian-made.

"The painting of the aircraft with domestic enamels with high weather resistance, strength and elasticity has also been completed," the UAC said.

The Corporation added that upon completion of the work, the upgraded L-39 will be transferred to the customer for control flight tests. L-39 Albatros training aircraft was developed in Czechoslovakia in the late 1960s, and was mass-produced until 1999. It was the main training aircraft of the Warsaw Pact countries and is still in service with more than 30 countries. There are about 150 L-39 aircraft in service with the Russian Aerospace forces (VKS) and about 200 more are in storage.
