Title: Italian flying saucer
Post by: No.1 on March 26, 2009, 12:21:31 AM
This look to me as great inspiration for the later Star Track Enterprise Space Ship. The 'Disiridisco Rotante' is described in the French caption as an 'appareil un peu plus lourde que l'air', or 'slightly heavier than air'. Design is from Italian engineer Guido Tallei, who made the model. The contraption was a combination of a dirigible and an aircraft with a rotating disk filled with gas on top. Length was given as 95 meters and it was to carry 850 'quintals' of load, whatever that may be!

Thanks Nico :)
