Fokker D-VII
« on: July 15, 2006, 09:43:42 PM »
At Lelystad airport, the annual biplane fyi-in was held today. First shown to the public was this Fokker D-VII replica in Dutch AF colours built by volunteers of the Stichting Vroege Vogels (Foundation Early Birds). It could taxi under its own power!

The D-VII was not the only Fokker at the Biplane Fly-in. Also the Fokker Dr.1 replica from Stichting Vroege Vogels PH-DRI was shown!

Look's again with original engine. But as I could note they did not match finish of the plane. This plane was alway's released in the streaky brown green pattern, not the opaque green. Anyway plane look nice!!!

This was the last Fokker on show during the Biplane Fly-in days, although strictly speaking it is not a biplane. However, the taxi run demonstration was quite unique. And..........this is an original Spin; it is NOT a replica. Some years ago, it was even flown occasionally, but that has come to an end. This type is too rare to take any risks!
