Russia is closing its airspace over Crimea and part of the Black Sea.

From April 20 to 24, the area over the southern part of Crimea (from Sevastopol to Feodosia) and the territorial waters of the Russian Federation adjacent to the Southern coast of Crimea, as well as over part of the international waters of the Black Sea, is included in the dangerous zone for flights.

Flights at altitudes below 19,000 meters are prohibited.

At January 17, 1970 was the maiden flight of the Su-24 frontline bomber. In 1961, the Design Bureau of P.O. Sukhoi started work on a new all weather airplane to be used for attacking ground targets. It was intended to be a replacement for the Su-7B fighter-bombers. After several years of development, a prototype T6-2I was built which become the prototype of the Su-24 frontline bomber.

The Su-24 is a two-seat high-plane with variable sweep wings (from 16? to 69?). The Su-24M variant was powered by two ? AL-21F-Z engines with 110 kN thrust on afterburner. Maximal speed - 1700 km/h, combat radius 560 km. Armament: 23-mm gun + up to 7000 kg of rockets / bombs on 8 external pylons points.

The new bomber entered service in the USSR Air Force in February 1975. The total number of built Su-24s of all versions was about 1400. It was exported to Iraq, Syria, Libya, Algeria, etc. Today it remains in service with the Air Force of a number of post-Soviet and African countries.
