Title: Far East Airfield
Post by: mfg495 on June 19, 2007, 04:34:22 PM
Here's a image from part of a collection I have of an allied airfield in the Far East, dated approx 1945.

In the shot I can see 9 P47 Thrunderbolts and 4 Spitfires (3 in bits) as for the rest, well  :-help

I have about 6, many showing the airfield, I will sort them out and resize them and post them if you wish.

Fire at will mate :)) Anyway I will have some free time soon and I will prepare a dozen of images, whole archive, for your site... starting with non published material from WW1 and later ;)

Looks like the other planes in your first photo are Dakotas (easy one), a Beaufighter, a Beech C-45 (not sure what the RAF name was), a Harvard and a Stinson L-5 Sentinel (had my first flight in one of these).  Great shots.
