Title: Eurofighter Radar to Be Upgraded

Spain's Indra will develop a new radar system for the Eurofighter Typhoon — the E-Scan AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar. The system will give the aircraft the capability to conduct a full complement of concurrent air-to-air and air-to-surface missions. A greater number of transmitter/receiver modules than carried by the current radar will increase power and reception for earlier target detection.
