« on: May 23, 2011, 04:01:09 PM »
USA have also something what look like extended development of Ar 234 and so similar to Canberra as well Soviet Il-28. Not much info about this interesting machine and don't ask me about the kits...

I can remember that B-45 was well represented in vacform kit since Revell, Airfix etc. were never interested in this 'limited production'! Too bad; B-45 was U.S. first jet bomber and definitely worth modelling....
The French MACH models has a limited production B-45 at 1/72 scale and at 1/48 scale there is a release of Collect-Air (if you want it, start saving money!).

Purchased today that nice 1/72 MACH 2 kit of the B-45! Noted that it is indeed 'limited production': sink marks, ejection marks and flash; they are all present. Although the box cover states that B-45 A/C/RB versions can be made, and although radar nose of RB version is also present, kit offers only one version B-45C with very basic decals for one plane only (no. 48-080). Locating pins are absent and instruction for use is a bare minumum A4! Clear parts are quite thick and in fact not 100% clear at all!!
In spite of this, it IS a kit of a B-45 so I should not complain! Interior is for a limited production run surprisingly complete. After-sales wanted are: an extensive decal sheet with all stenceling , clear vacform parts and a set of various resin parts including bomb-bay details.
Kit was second last available at Aviation Megastore at Aalsmeerderbrug near Schiphol airport, so there is only one left!!
