Title: Aerospace Aluminum
Post by: No.1 on September 28, 2010, 05:18:59 PM
Aircraft such as Boeing's mostly-composite 787 Dreamliner garner headlines while aluminum alloy producers develop new high strength-to-weight compositions. One is Alcan's AIRWARE™ which features high corrosion and crack resistance. The alloy will compose 20% of the structure of Bombardier's CSeries of mid-size airliners making their first revenue flights in 2013.
